'Here is the Bee hive' is one of the easiest and popular nursery rhymes.

This was 60 second animation project for my 3D modeling and animation class (MIT) that took approximately 30 hours to complete.

It incorporates a beehive and five bees that sequentially fly out from the beehive.
The narrative that I designed around is a 2D style in a 3D environment. The use of a 2D style helps reduce the ‘uncanny valley’ of the characters.

The key elements were the facial expression of the five bees. There was a bit of effort placed in the design of facial expressions as I felt that emotion is felt most in these expressions. Each one has a personality of its own:
